About the Parramatta Action Group
Parramatta Action Group is for people with intellectual disability who want to have a say in organisations they care about.
You may want to join a committee or board. You may just want to let people know what you think.
You will:
· have practice speaking up on issues that are important
· learn how to take part in meetings
· understand how committees and boards work
· have more say in the organisations that you are a part of.
You will have the chance to build skills and confidence to speak up and take action!

Why the Parramatta Action Group started
The Parramatta Action Group started because people with intellectual disability can miss on the chance to have a say in organisations they care about.
They may not feel confident to join boards and committees. The Parramatta Action Group gives people with intellectual disability a chance to find out what it is like to be on a committee. There is a chance to try out different roles like Chair, Treasurer and Secretary.
Action Group members can develop skills in considering issues and giving feedback.

The group will meet from 10am to 12 noon on:
- 7 March 2025
- 21 March 2025
- 4 April 2025
- 18 April 2025
- 2 May 2025
- 16 May 2025
- 30 May 2025
- 13 June 2025
The group will meet at the Side By Side Advocacy office at
Level 2, Suite 206, 34 Charles St, Parramatta.
If you can’t get into the office, you can join online. Tell us you want to join online and we will email you the link.
You can also get support to build your skills in a location that better suits you.
The Parramatta Action Group is funded by the Department of Social Services.
